Main Street Children’s Center is a full time, Christian based child development program. Our purpose is to minister to families in our community by providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn about God’s love through teaching and example.

September Article from the Director:

September brings lots of changes to our center. We are anxiously awaiting the new school year here at MSCC to see what great things God has in store for us. Fall is one of my favorite times of year. There are so many fun and exciting ways to teach children about all the wonderful things God has made just for us. Our teachers have just completed training and are eager to start the new school year. We will host our second annual open house on Sept.1 and of course we will be honoring our grandparents with a breakfast on the 11th. With the beginning of our new school year we will be opening up our prayer angel program once again to our church family. If you have not participated in this program in the past I urge you to prayerfully consider getting involved. It is a great way for our Main Street family to minister to the Children Center families. We are welcoming 2 new teachers for fall and ask you our church family to be praying for all of us as we begin this new year. We currently have 8 openings in our younger classes so we need to also be praying that God will send us families to fill those spaces. We have several families that are experiencing financial difficulties right now. If you can help in any way by helping with scholarships please let me know. Also please keep in mind that while we have children in care that we will need to keep the doors to our center locked for the safety and security of all our children and staff. Thank you again for your support of this most important ministry.

Blessed to Serve,

Ruth Ann Godfrey

                                      Our Curriculum

WEE Learn is a Biblically based curriculum that is broken down into units of study. Each unit will begin with a Bible story followed by a discussion about how it relates to the topic. This unit will be the basis for all of the activities for a couple of weeks. The units are designed to be interesting to children so that incorporating more technical instruction will be exciting in the midst of a topic already loved by the students.”

In addition to the WEE Learn curriculum we have:

    • Exercise: We get to run, play and explore with Coach Robin three times a week.
    • Promiseland: On the 1st & 3rd thursdays, Ms. Toni teaches Preschool Promiseland Chapel, with puppets, interactive media and fun songs. We love Promiseland!
    • SonShine Singers: This year we will begin music class with Miss Kate on the 2nd & 4th thursdays. We can't wait to learn about instruments, music theory and worshipping God with our voices and bodies!

    Our Staff

The Christian staff is prayerfully committed to each family, as an extension of the child.  They are competent and qualified teachers; most have undergraduate degrees or professional child development credentials.  Each staff, including regular volunteers who interact with children, is required to pass a criminal background check & be fingerprinted. All staff are expected to exceed state training and other childcare standards. They are partners in children's learning, there to stimulate and introduce new ideas, set clear and constant limits and be perceptive to differences and shifts in children's moods and needs.
